You can obtain three credentials from The American Academy of Professional Coders: the CPC, the CPC-H and the CPC-P. You can also acquire from the American Health Information Management Association one of the following credentials: the Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist - Physician-based (CCS-P) and/or Certified Coding Associate (CCA). These qualifications can be achieved through a sitting exam.
